The flask
Do I need the flask?
Any bottle with 200ml of water works. The flask just makes the maths easy: one flask, one serve, no measuring mid-run.
How do I clean it?
Warm, soapy water after every use, then rinse it well. Always air dry it completely with the cap open before you put it away. Avoid boiling water.
Can I mix NOBONK in it, or just water?
Mix it in — that's what it's for. One sachet, 200ml, done. Just rinse it out as soon as you're finished. Anything with carbs in it will start to grow things if you leave it sitting in a warm pack.
It's picked up a smell. How do I get rid of it?
One part white vinegar to four parts water. Leave it 30 minutes, rinse thoroughly, then air dry completely. A faint smell on a brand-new flask is normal and fades after the first few washes.
How should I store it?
Bone dry, cap open, somewhere cool and out of direct sun. Don't leave it folded or crushed for long stretches — that stresses the seams. Drying it properly is the whole trick; almost every flask that goes funky was put away damp.
